The manufacture of China's first permanent maglev suspension train Xingguo reached completion on Tuesday in Ganzhou, Jiangxi province.The Xingguo train does not rely on rubber wheels for load-bearing runs. Instead, it uses attraction and repulsion in a magnetic field created within tracks to propel itself while being suspended in air with zero friction.

China's exports of automobiles reached a new monthly record in July, industrial data showed Thursday. The country's auto firms exported about 290,000 units of cars last month, up 67 percent year on year and 16.5 percent over June, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

Shanghai reported one new confirmed COVID-19 case and one asymptomatic community COVID-19 case on Thursday after detecting zero community cases for six days in a row. The new infections, a male and a female, aged 43 and 48 years, respectively, live in Meilong Town of Minhang District and Huajing Town of Xuhui District, respectively.

China's small and medium-sized enterprises have shown upward momentum in resuming work and business activity, although further policy efforts are needed so that more of them can resume operations at full capacity, according to a recent survey by the China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises.

The overall scale of China's trade in services sector has exceeded the pre-pandemic levels, and the trade deficit has further narrowed, said Wang Chunying, deputy head and spokeswoman of State Administration of Foreign Exchange, at a news conference in Beijing.
