The first direct China-Europe freight train service linking Southwest China's Guizhou province and countries along the Belt and Road was launched on Monday. The inaugural train loaded with nearly 300 metric tons of Guizhou tea worth 100 million yuan (about $14.67 million) is expected to arrive in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in eight to 10 days.

Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region has provided residents with consumer subsidies worth more than 60 million yuan (about $8.46 million) to spur sales of household appliances, local authorities said.
