China on Wednesday evening successfully sent a new experiment satellite into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China. The Shiyan-19 satellite was launched at 7:41 pm (Beijing Time) by a Long March-11 carrier rocket and entered its planned orbit successfully. This experiment satellite will primarily be used for land resource surveys, urban planning, disaster prevention and mitigation, and other missions.

China's space agency has published the online database of the 6th batch of lunar samples brought back by the Chang'e 5 probe. Researchers and the public can access the Lunar and Deep Space Exploration Scientific Data and Sample Release System via the website, where they can apply for data and samples, according to the China National Space Administration.

Chinese courts have stepped up efforts to protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers in cyberspace after seeing a rapid growth of disputes in recent years, China's top court said. Statistics released by the Supreme People's Court on Wednesday showed that over the past five years, courts nationwide concluded some 99,000 cases concerning online purchase contracts and about 23,000 cases involving online service contracts.

The first pile foundation for the Hangzhou Bay Railway Bridge, an integral part of the Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo High-speed Railway, was drilled in Haiyan county, Zhejiang province, on Friday, marking the start of offshore construction on the world's longest cross-sea high-speed railway bridge.

Chinese scientists have made a fundamental breakthrough in the understanding of the nucleolus, a structure with important functions in the nucleus. Their findings may also pave the way for diagnoses and treatments of related diseases. The nucleolus, a spherical structure with a diameter of 0.5 to 5 microns, is responsible for the production and processing of ribosomal RNA in both humans and animals.

On March 1, the Qingdao Maritime Court in Shandong province opened a space specifically to deal with maritime affairs in the Qingdao pilot free trade zone. The aim is to offer efficient legal services to support opening-up and enhance maritime law in the country.

The area is comprised of two courtrooms and is the first of its kind to be established by a maritime court in a pilot free trade zone in China.
