SHIJIAZHUANG -- The city of Langfang in North China's Hebei province saw its first China-Europe freight train leave the station Saturday. The freight train, carrying 55 40-foot containers, will complete a journey of 7,800 kilometers. It will leave the country via Erenhot Port in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, pass through Mongolia and finally arrive at its destination in Moscow 17 days later.

BEIJING -- All four prototypes of China's AG600M aircraft, a full-configuration firefighting model belonging to the AG600 large amphibious aircraft family, have kicked off the flight test mission, the aircraft developer announced Saturday.

The headquarters of the World Tourism Alliance opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Friday. The alliance, an international non-governmental and non-profit organization initiated by China, announced to base its headquarters in Hangzhou in December 2017 after being formally founded in September that year. The construction work started in late March 2019.

During a promotional event in Beijing on Friday for the Yinxu Ruins in Henan province's Anyang, Liu Jiehua, head of Anyang's culture, radio, television, sports and tourism bureau, dressed up like Fuhao, China's first-known female general, who lived in the 13th century BC. Liu donned the special garb to promote the historical site and encourage more tourists to visit.

China will continue to strengthen opening-up and cooperation in science and technology, while also promoting bilateral and multilateral inter-governmental sci-tech cooperation for mutual benefits, according to the Ministry of Science and Technology on Friday. China has established sci-tech cooperation relations with more than 160 countries and regions, and signed 116 inter-governmental agreements on sci-tech cooperation, Vice Minister Zhang Guangjun told a press conference.

JIUQUAN -- China successfully sent a new remote sensing satellite into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China on Friday. The remote sensing satellite was launched at 12:01 pm (Beijing Time) by a Long March 2C carrier rocket and entered its planned orbit successfully. The launch was the 464th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.

A research team at Peking University has made a new breakthrough in multiphoton microscopy by developing a miniature three-photon microscope that has successfully captured deep-brain images of freely moving mice.
