North China's Hebei province saw its foreign trade grow 3.9 percent year-on-year to 562.9 billion yuan ($82.61 billion) in 2022, according to local customs. Its exports totaled 340.74 billion yuan, up 12.5 percent year-on-year, and imports hit 222.16 billion yuan, down 7 percent, data from Shijiazhuang Customs showed.

Chinese electronics company Hisense opened a research center in Slovenia on Monday, in a ceremony attended by the country's president Natasa Pirc Musar. The center in Velenje in easter Slovenia is worth some 2.1 million euros, and will develop household appliances for all of Europe. It will also produce kitchen and premium appliances for the global market. Hisense is one of Slovenia's largest exporters.

Smart electric vehicle company Jidu Auto will integrate Baidu Inc's ChatGPT-like artificial intelligence services in its cars to provide better human-machine interaction. Xia Yiping, CEO of Jidu, said the company will integrate Ernie Bot, an AI chatbot project developed by Baidu, into its cars to develop the world's first large-language-model-powered AI interactive experience for intelligent vehicles.

A subway train made in Tangshan, Hebei province, was handed over to Porto, Portugal on Saturday in Porto. It was the first urban train that China has exported to a European Union country, according to CRRC Tangshan Co, the train's manufacturer. The company is one of China's largest makers of trains and subway vehicles.

China firmly opposes the United States adding six Chinese entities into its "entity list", a blacklist for export, on the supposition they support China's military airships and other aerospace programs, a spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.

Shenzhen's GDP last year increased by 3.3 percent to a new high of 3.24 trillion yuan ($475 billion) and set a growth target of 6 percent this year, according to the city government's annual work report delivered on Tuesday. Qin Weizhong, the mayor, delivered the report at the opening meeting of the annual session of the Shenzhen People's Congress. He also said the total imports and exports had exceeded 3.7 trillion yuan. Export volume alone surged by 13.9 percent, first among cities in the Chinese mainland.

Per capita household savings exceeded 200,000 yuan ($29,342.60) in Beijing and Shanghai for 2022, becoming the only two regions in China exceeding that amount, the 21st Century Business Herald reported on Tuesday. In 2022 per capita household savings in Beijing and Shanghai reached 26.78 trillion yuan and 21.16 trillion yuan, respectively, followed by Zhejiang province with 12.74 trillion yuan.
