The National Bureau of Statistics releases inventory indexes at the end of every month. The most recent data showed that year-on-year growth rates of both general inventories and finished goods inventories of industrial enterprises are back on a track of decline since May, while the yearly growth pace of inventories started decreasing even earlier — since November last year.

China's imports and exports were valued 31.11 trillion yuan ($4.29 trillion) in the first three quarters of the year, up 9.9 percent from a year ago, data from the General Administration of Customs showed on Monday.The exports increased 13.8 percent year-on-year to 17.67 trillion yuan, while the imports totaled 13.44 trillion yuan, rising 5.2 percent on a yearly basis.

Tesla on Monday announced that it will reduce the prices of its Model 3 and Model Y vehicles on the Chinese mainland. According to a latest post by Tesla China's official Weibo account, the price of Tesla Model 3 and Model Y for sale on the mainland will be adjusted to a starting price of 265,900 yuan (US$36,677) for the former and 288,900 yuan for the latter, including China's new-energy vehicle subsidies.

Austrian composer Gustav Mahler's masterwork "Das Lied von der Erde" used German adaptations of French and German translations of ancient Chinese poems as the source of the text. One such translation by Judith Gautier mistakenly interpreted Li Bai's (AD 701-762) "Banquet to Tao's Family Pavilion" into "Le Pavillon de Porcelaine." The Chinese character tao denotes both the family name and porcelain.
