The upcoming 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is expected to map out a blueprint for China's economic development for the next five years and beyond and shed light on the country's strategic solutions to improve growth quality with a focus on addressing unbalanced and inadequate development, experts said.

China Southern Airlines, one of the country's three major airlines, will resume international passenger flights, including Guangzhou-Jakarta and Dalian-Tokyo, later this month to meet demand, the company disclosed on Friday.

China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 2.8 percent year on year in September, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Friday. On a monthly basis, September's CPI remained generally stable, reversing the 0.1-percent decline in August to inch up 0.3 percent.

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is scheduled to open at 10 am Sunday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The event will be broadcast live by China Media Group and Xinhuanet. It will also be relayed simultaneously by television and radio stations across China, as well as news websites, new media platforms, large outdoor screens and mobile televisions.

Shanghai is going to accelerate the development of smart factories and digital infrastructure in the coming years, hoping to build 200 demonstration intelligent factories by 2025, according to the Shanghai Commission of Economy and Informatization.

China's factory-gate inflation fell to its slowest pace in 20 months in September due to a drop in prices of commodities such as crude oil, official data showed on Friday China's producer price index, which gauges factory-gate prices, increased 0.9 percent from a year ago in September, following a 2.3 percent rise in August, the National Bureau of Statistics said.

China will intensify its implementation of premises rent reductions or exemptions for small and micro-sized firms and self-employed businesses in the services sector, the state-assets regulator has said.
