Shanghai reported a COVID-19 community case on Sunday during the bustling National Day holiday.The 21-year-old man, a resident of Hangtou Town in the Pudong New Area, tested positive after the city had detected zero community infections for a dozen days.

China will recruit 12 to 14 new reserve astronauts for future spaceflight missions, announced the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) Sunday. Among the reserve astronauts, also the fourth batch of China's astronauts, seven to eight will be spacecraft pilots, and five to six will be spaceflight engineers and payload specialists, including two as payload specialists, said the CMSA.

The Chinese mainland on Saturday reported 116 locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said on Sunday. Altogether 432 local asymptomatic carriers were newly identified.
