There is a lot of potential in the structural drivers of China's growth, so the country is likely to see its GDP growth moderate in the first quarter, and accelerate in the second and third quarters when the previous macroeconomic policies take effect, a political adviser said on Tuesday.

China's producer price index, which gauges factory-gate prices, rose 8.8 percent year-on-year in Feb, down from 9.1 percent in the previous month, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday.

China will work to ensure the number of 5G base stations tops 2 million this year, Minister of Industry and Information Technology Xiao Yaqing said Tuesday. China currently houses around 1.43 million 5G base stations and over 500 million 5G users, Xiao told journalists on the sidelines of the ongoing "two sessions," adding that the country will also make plans to develop 6G technology.

The proportion of total director seats held by women in China-listed companies has increased more than 5 percentage points from 2016 to 2021, data from global index provider MSCI showed ahead of International Women's Day on Tuesday, but women in the country still have low representation on corporate boards.
