Alibaba Group Holding Ltd reported its slowest quarterly sales growth since its 2014 public listing, amid regulatory scrutiny, the tough macroeconomic environment and stifling competition. Total sales revenue of the e-commerce behemoth rose by just 10 percent to 243 billion yuan ($38.49 billion) in the quarter ended December, as slower growth was registered in its core e-commerce business.

The Chinese mainland on Saturday reported 112 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said on Sunday. According to the commission's daily report, Guangdong reported 48 of the new local infections, and Inner Mongolia reported 38. For other provincial-level regions, Guangxi reported seven cases, Liaoning reported six, Tianjin and Sichuan each reported three, while Beijing, Jiangsu and Yunnan each reported two, and Shanxi reported one.

The city reported 43 imported COVID-19 patients, 11 imported asymptomatic infections and one local asymptomatic case on Saturday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Sunday morning. The first imported patient is a Chinese living in Hong Kong SAR who arrived at the Pudong International Airport on February 19.

China launched a Long March-8 rocket to place 22 satellites in space on Sunday, setting a domestic record for the most spacecraft launched by a single rocket. The rocket blasted off at 11:06 am (Beijing Time) at the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in the southern Hainan Province before sending the satellites into preset orbit.

North China's Tianjin Municipality reported six locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and one asymptomatic carrier in the first 12 hours of Sunday, according to the municipal COVID-19 prevention and control headquarters. All the newly logged cases were discovered among people under quarantine in the Binhai New Area and are related to a foot-massage parlor.
