The recent COVID-19 outbreak in East China's Suzhou, Jiangsu province, will have a limited impact on the global supply of semiconductors and other electronic industries as local companies start to resume operations, but chip delays will come over the short term, industry experts said on Tuesday.

Chinese tech heavyweight Lenovo Group Ltd said on Wednesday it recorded historic highs for both profit and revenue in the quarter ended in December, as it navigated wider industry supply challenges and delivered rapid growth and profitability across all key business groups and geographies.

The Chinese mainland on Wednesday reported 85 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said on Thursday. The commission's daily report showed that Inner Mongolia reported 40 of the new local infections. Meanwhile, Hubei reported 10, Liaoning and Guangdong each reported eight, Sichuan reported six, Jiangsu, Guangxi and Yunnan each reported three, and Beijing and Shanxi each reported two.

China's sharing economy transaction scale reached around 3.69 trillion yuan ($583.77 billion) in 2021, up 9.2 percent from a year earlier, with a direct financing scale of about 213.7 billion yuan, up 80.3 percent year-on-year, according to the latest China Sharing Economy Development Report released recently by the State Information Center.

China will take steps to expand targeted and effective investment while ruling out a deluge of strong stimulus policies, the country's top economic regulator said on Wednesday. The National Development and Reform Commission said the move will help reinvigorate various enterprises, prevent a new round of repetitive construction and overcapacity, and promote high-quality development.

Israeli medical technology company Insightec is upbeat about the prospects of China's healthcare industry and ramping up its investment in the world's second-largest economy, as innovation has been playing one of the leading roles in promoting China-Israel relations. Eyeing China's development potential in the medical technology field, Qiu Peng, China country manager of Insightec, said the company plans to cooperate with more top medical institutions in China to explore treatment methods more suitable for Chinese patients.

Airbus delivered a total of 142 commercial aircraft to the Chinese market in 2021, Airbus China said Wednesday. China remained Airbus' largest single-country market globally. Commercial aircraft deliveries in the country accounted for more than 23 percent of Airbus' global deliveries in 2021, according to Airbus China.
